This page explains how the platforms featured on this site are assessed — and,
more importantly, what our assessment does not claim to be.
What the assessment is based on
Our comparisons are editorial and documentary work, not field
research. They rest on things any reader can check independently:
- Advertised features — what the platform offers on its free and
paid tiers, as published on its own site and as seen at sign-up. - Pricing and terms — the published price list, commitment period,
renewal and cancellation terms, as they appear in the terms of service. - Sign-up and access — what is required to create an account,
whether age verification exists, whether a payment method is demanded up front. - Safety and privacy — privacy policy, data-protection statements,
blocking and reporting tools documented by the platform. - Usability — whether a dedicated app exists, how the site behaves
on mobile. - Positioning — the audience and type of use the platform itself
puts forward.
How to read our ratings
A rating is an editorial summary of those six criteria, not a
measurement. It reflects our overall view at the time of writing, and it matters mainly
by comparison: a platform rated above another is rated so on those criteria, not in
absolute terms. A rating is neither a customer-satisfaction score nor the output of a
numeric protocol.
What we do not measure
This needs saying plainly, because many comparison sites claim otherwise:
- We do not publish active-user counts per city or per platform.
Platforms do not release this data and no reliable public source establishes it. - We do not publish response rates, meeting rates or fake-profile
rates. Those cannot be measured from the outside. - We run no user panel and claim no testing period. Where an
observation comes from personal use, it is presented as such and not as a statistic.

does not change the order of our comparisons, and platforms cannot buy their place.
Corrections
Offers change, prices move, features disappear. If you find information on this site
that is outdated or wrong, report it through the contact page and it will be corrected
